I am excited to see how the Dallas Cowboys will bolster their wide receiver corps during the upcoming free agency period. The team saw in the 2022 season that CeeDee Lamb cannot carry the load alone, so the front office is actively looking for a player who can complement him and fit well into Mike McCarthy’s system.
Dallas Cowboys have interest in Odell Beckham Jr.
One of the names that have been circulating is Odell Beckham Jr. Despite his absence from the game due to an ACL injury, he remains one of the most sought-after free agents in the league. He is considered the top wideout available in what has been described as an uninspiring class of free agents. Several teams are expected to pursue Beckham, and the Cowboys are among the frontrunners for his signature.
The team had been in talks with Odell Beckham Jr. in the past, but negotiations were postponed due to concerns about his physical condition. However, with free agency now less than a month away, the front office has hopefully started evaluating this year’s class and which players fit best in McCarthy’s system as a complement to Lamb.
The Cowboys are likely to face tough competition from the Buffalo Bills, who are currently hiring Adam Henry as their new wide receiver coach. Henry previously served as the Cowboys’ receivers coach in 2020 and 2021, and he spent the 2022 season coaching Indiana’s offense. Moreover, he has worked with Beckham in the past, during their time at LSU and with the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.
Bills are looking to steal away OBJ
Beckham’s familiarity with Henry might give the Bills an advantage in signing him. Odell Beckham Jr. would have the opportunity to compete for a championship, catch passes from Josh Allen, and play alongside Stefon Diggs. However, as a Cowboys fan, I am hopeful that the team will revisit its interest in Beckham and outbid the Bills for his services.
Regardless of where Odell Beckham Jr. lands, his signing will undoubtedly make headlines, and the bidding for his services will be intense. Moreover, it is an exciting time for football fans, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for my beloved Dallas Cowboys.
